The number of people in our community with behavioral and substance use issues has reached crisis levels, resulting in severe overcrowding of Bannock County Jail and a lack of meaningful treatment for those in need.
The proposed Behavioral Care Center of Bannock County would provide crisis care, stabilization and alternatives to incarceration and hospitalization.
CRISIS CARE CENTER
Up to 24-hours of crisis care, 365 days per year. Immediate, short-term care for individuals in crisis to reduce emergency room use and unnecessary incarceration.
STABILIZATION & TREATMENT CENTER
Outpatient treatment directed toward stabilization and recovery with community-driven, wrap-around support services that address behavioral health, substance use, suicide and the opioid crisis.
COURT & JAIL ALTERNATIVES
40-bed, monitored facility directs individuals away from incarceration or hospitalization with a collaboration between the judicial system, law enforcement, behavioral healthcare and community-based services.
BANNOCK COUNTY JAIL
Reduce jail expansion from 260 beds to an estimated 120-160 beds. Reduce severe overcrowding of Bannock County Jail and take critical steps to ensure that the appropriate population is incarcerated.
Driving goal is to support re-entry and reintegration for residents back into a positive community environment that can be sustained.
